SPRING LAWN CARE

  • Try to keep off the lawn until it has completely dried out
  • Rake up any leftover debris or dead leaves for last fall
  • Aerate the lawn in early spring to help with deep rooting..
  • Apply a premium slow release lawn fertilizer.
  • Apply Grass seed to sparse areas
  • If weeds become and problem use a weed and feed.

SUMMER LAWN CARE

  • Cut on a regular basis leaving at least 2”-3” in summer

FALL LAWN CARE

  • Following watering and mowing suggestions listed below.
  • Apply a premium winterizing fertilizer.
  • This is the best time to apply a premium seed

WATERING

  • It’s important to water at least 2-3 times a week a Min of 1” ( more if its hot)
  • Water early in the morning or very late afternoon to avoid burning.
  • Try to water the entire area get all the way to the edge
  • Use a Frisbee to measure if the correct amount of water is being applied.

POWER RAKING

  • Increases effectiveness of fertilizers, watering and pest controls
  • Best to do early spring for best results
  • Promotes a thicker and healthier lawn
  • great way to remove old grass green up your lawn quicker

MOWING

  • Sharpen your blade every year to ensure nice clean cuts.
  • Mow around 2-3 inches during normal summer season
  • Raise blade another 1” or so during hot weather
  • Move a different direction every other mow to ensure all grass cut well.

AERATION

  • Aerate at least once a year , usually in spring
  • Aeration allows greater oxygen to the roots and helps increase nutrients
  • Best to aerate and then fertilize to allow for direct access to roots.

FERTILIZER APPLICATION

  • Read all labels and follow information for best results
  • Remove all objects from lawn
  • Use a quality spreader –this is important!
  • Do not spill fertilizer on lawn – fill on concrete
  • Fertilize one direction on the lawn then go back other direction IE North south/ east west. This will ensure proper coverage
  • Do not water right after fertilizing
  • Check with local bylaws on weed and feed
